The Ultimate Guide to Homemade Hot Chocolate Mix
Every household has their own staples- just things that your family always uses and goes through, so your just always buying it. We don’t use Hot Chocolate powder just for hot chocolate, but we also use it for oatmeal too! Just a bit of hot chocolate powder in your warm morning bowl of oatmeal and you have a delicious way to start the day.
I can’t remember what compelled me to look up the ingredients of a basic hot coca mix, but I remember thinking that I more than likely had mots if not all the ingredients. After some initial research I realized how different some folks make it. Some people add pudding, others add coffee creamer powder.
What to choose?
So how was I going to know which recipe I should try? I decided to try the one where I’d need to buy the least amount of supplies. Which is the recipe I’m sharing with you today. I only needed to make one purchase for this, which I had planned to get for my emergency food supply anyways, and that is powdered milk. Everything else I already had on hand.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/3 cup Sugar (granulated or powdered)
- 2/3 cup Baking Coca
- 1/2 cup Powdered Milk
- 1/8 Tea Salt (optional)
Directions:
Add everything to a container. Could be a Ziplock, or bowl. Personally, I used an old hot chocolate container that would otherwise get thrown away. I’ll tweak this recipe based on what the opinions are.
