Celebrate the Season: Discover Timeless Christmas Traditions
Every family has some traditions, even if they don’t realize it. And even the tiniest things can be considered traditions. Being married to Daniel epically, and looking at how he sees Christmas, it has really helped me go from enjoying the present and gift giving part, to like really savoring that extra time we all have together at Christmastime.
Winter Concerts
Christmastime means its time for the winter concerts performed by the kids at their school. Last year, Vito’s was doing work hours so I was unable to go. Elizabeth had hers in the evening, and she performed with her band class. That hasn’t been a tradition for long, but it has the last couple years, and even though I get overwhelmed with all the people there, it is a nice thing to do together, and I love watching Vito dance to all the music.
Anniversary Christmas Shopping
Being that Daniel and I got married so close to Christmas, we typically celebrate by spending the time together, and doing the kids’ Christmas shopping. Sometimes we might go out to dinner, other times we might grab a couple things off a value menu and scarf it down in front of Walmart. We try to get the rest of the Christmas stuff done that day, that way if Daniel needs to go out again, its just to do my Christmas shopping if he hadn’t done it by then already.
Not Going Anywhere on Christmas
Daniel loves to stay home as much as possible. So we have a tradition where on Christmas epically, we don’t go anywhere. This all stemmed back from his days doing internet. And if things went down, you were working sometimes overnight, because epically on holidays where lots of people have company, your gonna want your internet working. So Christmas was our day we took for our family, to spend together having fun and making memories.
Do you have any Christmas Traditions you look forward to every season? What are they?
