Lately, we’ve been getting the meat bundles that Save Mart/Food Maxx sell from $25-30. Its a great deal, and it comes with great variety, the one problem being that its typically always bone in chicken, and typically we just roast it cause its easy and not that much hassle.
The downside is that we now have A LOT of bone in chicken, which is why I typically cook chicken weekly. But to be honest with you? I’m getting tired of doing the same thing with it over and over again. So while I brainstorm something to do with that chicken, I decided to try a new ground beef recipe. I’ve seen this recipe throughout the years and its always been in the back of my mind as a possible easy weeknight meal, but I’ve never actually done it. So tonight, I decided enough is enough and I put it on my weekly meal plan.

Ingredients:
- 1lb ground beef
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- Green onions(garnish)
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Rice for serving
Directions:
Brown the ground beef, breaking it into crumbles. Add the garlic and Sautee.
In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar and seasonings. Pour into the cooked ground beef. Simmer 2-3 minutes.
Serve the beef over cooked rice. Top with carrots and any other veggies, plus green onions.
Overall:
What I love about this recipe is that it involves mostly ingredients I always have on hand, the soy sauce, the brown sugar, and the ground beef, I typically always have. Even the sesame oil I’ll typically have on hand since you never need a lot of it it will typically last a while.
What would you add to your Korean Beef bowl. Personally I wish I had some Avocado for mine!
