Clear the Clutter: Deep Clean Your Fridge

Recently, I had some lab work done, and for some of my labs, I have things to do at home and store in my fridge. That left me realizing that my fridge is filthy and disgusting. Daniel would be working this weekend, so I had time to pull everything out of the fridge, and scrub it, from top to bottom.

I’ve gotta fit this in my fridge for labs

Now, because our budget tight the next, I’ll be using only cleaning products I have around the house, and the first thing I’ll be trying to use is a sponge, and my homemade Vinegar cleaner (Check out the recipe here: https://lemkehomestead.com/homemade-citrus-cleaner/ )

But before we can get to scrubbing, we need to start taking things out of the fridge and putting them on the counter, unless your coming across things that just need to be thrown away. This is the time to do that. I recommend doing this about when you need to go grocery shopping. That way there’s not as much in the fridge to take out.

Before (gross)

The shelves of my fridge comes out, so I’m able to take the shelf out and give it a good rinse, or in this case scrubbing. The top shelf I took out and sprayed, letting everything sit. Before I put the shelf back in, I made sure to wipe down the inside sides of the refrigerator as well.

Once all the shelves were wiped down and cleaned it was time to put things back, with some sort of organization this time. The eggs stayed in their usual place, middle shelf. The bottom shelf is for milk products and pickles (why I put those two things together I’ll never know)

During

I decided to clean the door separately, so once everything that’s needed on the shelves is back in its spot, now its time to take everything off the door. Again, getting rid of anything old, expired or gross. my shelves on my fridge can’t be removed or anything, so again, do a quick spray and wipe. Thankfully, the door wasn’t nearly as bad as the shelves were, so the door was done pretty quickly.

After!

In the end, the fridge looks way better and way more organized. How often do you detail your fridge like this?
