Recently, I noticed I was really enjoying my adult coloring books more, epically while I was watching tv nightly with Daniel. Work has been insanely stressful as of lately, and typically, by the time I’m home, I don’t want to do much of anything accept veg on the couch.

So, I started coloring again. One thought lead to another and I had to wonder if they made smaller paint by numbers. I had done one before, but it was HUGE and I just didn’t have the space to dedicate to it. Eventually I had to wind up throwing it away, which just hurt my soul. But I noticed that Michaels had much smaller ones, 8×8’s, and even 8×10’s and all at a reasonable price of $9.99!

I couldn’t resist, and wound up getting 4 of them to both try, and a few for folks for Christmas, and one to paint for someone for Christmas. Many of you might be saying “that’s a cheap gift” But if your painting it for someone, now your also putting your soul into the gift. So in a way, yeah, the materials may only cost you $9.99. But how much time, effort and love did you put into it?

At first I was mildly irritated with how faint the lines were, and it was definitely a struggle to get started. It made me grateful that I picked out one that I was doing just for myself as my first starter project. It wouldn’t have to turn out perfect.

By the end of the project I had a pretty good idea of what I needed to correct on my next project. When I showed my first finished project to my husband and kids, they thought for a first timer it looked good, you could at least tell what the painting was supposed to be of, even if some parts weren’t perfect.

I would really recommend this to people who have a creative outlet but are at times struggling with what to do, its a nice project to do in the evenings, and I completed this painting in one day, but if I took my time, it would probably look even better.
