For those of you who don’t know already, I am a preschool teacher. Which thankfully means that one week during April, I’ll get an entire week off, a week known to all as “Spring Break”. Some people go on vacations, or trips, other people, such as myself, prefer spending it at home, getting projects done you otherwise wouldn’t have the energy for.
My Plans
This spring break, I wanted to actually plan practical things to do instead of a bunch of crafts like I typically prefer to do on my time off. This year, I decided I would rip out a dead bush in the front yard and replace it with something a bit more beautiful.
I’m also hoping to get the house in a maintainable state instead of it being just filthy, the same with the kitchen. After work and school, the extra clutter has a tendency to pile up, and gets easily forgotten about. There have been desks we’ve been wanting to remove for some time, and I seriously am in great need of going through my Tupperware collection.
Monday:
Monday I couldn’t find my watch, which kind of forced me to start my first project: decluttering my room. I wound up finding my watch thankfully, but that first day I think I got rid of 2 bags worth of stuff. And that was from only half the room! I also made hamburger patties for the kids’ lunch for the week.

Tuesday:
Tuesday I continued to work on my room, and I finished the day being pretty happy with how it turned out. I did another run to the dump, taking 3 more black trash bags filled with trash and clutter, as well as 2 totes worth of stuff from my dad, as well as the kids’ artwork.
Wednesday:
Wednesday I needed to get the rest of the house in order. On Tuesday I primarily worked on my room that day, other than the bare minimum around the house that needed to be done. I got the rest of the house clean, made a trip into town to dump more garbage and turn in some paperwork. Overall, didn’t really accomplish as much as Tuesday, but I’m still happy with how the day turned out.

Thursday:
Daniel didn’t have to work on Thursday, so we took in Recycling and cleaned up the back yard. The desk I had taken apart earlier in the week we started cleaning up pieces when Daniel had a great idea to reuse it! He cut down a couple of the metal pieces and turned part of the desk into a side table. We also took a nice walk, all four of us. So yeah, not as productive as I have been, but we also spent some much needed time together, so all in all, still a good day.

Friday:
Friday I needed to get caught up on dishes and housework being that I took yesterday as a family day. I also went through my Tupperware and got rid of anything that didn’t’ have a lid. Realistically as long as I have a few in varying sizes, I don’t need much more than that. Being that it was payday, we got pizza for dinner and relaxed that evening.
