So one thing that often happens in the winter, is I feel like at my homestead once the weather turns wet and rainy, many of the outside chores get forgotten about. And then when its not rainy, its cold, so you honestly do the bare minimum. Needless to say by spring time your eager to get your yard looking good again. Well, that’s where we are at. I’m trying to get my section ready for my plants this year, while Daniel is trying to get his table and mechanical area ready for car and motorcycle maintenance this year.

The major thing I’ve been working on is pulling all the over grown weeds near the area I keep most of my plants. Between pregnancy and the winter my plant area became overgrown and in need of a lot of maintenance. I’m typically only able to work on it a little out of time, due to the simple fact that the baby needs me more often than not.

Daniel helped immensely when he cleaned up some of his tools that were scattered in the backyard. He also hauled the trashcan that was full of weeds over to a brush pile in the field that my house plus 3 other surrounding neighbors put yard clippings and such in.

There is still a great deal of stuff that needs to be done. But its coming along. Typically its Daniel OR I working on it at one time, so we don’t get much time to actively work together on this project, but its at least getting there.

Theres a few things we need to decide on as well. We have the metal frame his motorcycle came int. And it would look pretty cool made into a table or even a work bench. but we haven’t fully 100% decided what to do with it yet. So before either one of us does anything with it, that needs to be decided on and moved

Now that Dani is moving much better now, I only have patches of time throughout the day. I bring her outside with me and put her in her little play pen, and try to get as much done as I can. These days there’s a lot of weed pulling, and air-rating my in ground plot in preparation for – something. What I don’t know yet.

Our backyard is still very much a work in progress, My garden area I’m still trying to clean up, but were getting there. When either of us have time and aren’t dog tired, we work out back. Its tiny, and its going to take some time; but eventually, its going to be turned into our little homestead sanctuary.
