I learned early on in my life that what one person has trash, someone else could consider that a treasure. Since staying at home with Dani I’ve joined a few of the freebie groups, and mom groups. I’ve even been able to pick up a high chair for Dani that someone was getting rid of, as well as some almost expired canned food. So When I had a bag full of egg cartons that were otherwise going to be thrown away, I figured maybe I’ll try to donate them to someone with chickens. So, I posted on a couple of the groups that I had some egg cartons.

Within minutes I had someone wanting to come and picked them up. I arranged the time and place with them and thought that was that. Until she asked if I wanted some fresh eggs. Farm fresh eggs, laid this morning? Yes please! I graciously accepted her offer and the arrangement was set. I’d be trading goods that otherwise would be thrown away, for some eggs for my family.
And to my surprise, to that post, even after I mentioned that they were no longer available, I still had people requesting to be next in line for the second batch of egg cartons. We met up about an hour and a half later, where She took the bag full of empty cartons, and in return handed me a dozen and a half farm fresh eggs, 6 of which were laid that morning,
Being a treat to have farm fresh eggs, I just had to do them for dinner! I was pleased and excited with the trade I had made that day, and felt like celebrating. I had some Heinz beans I’d been dying to use up, so I whipped up an almost complete English breakfast. Beans, Toast, Eggs Sausage with a big bowl of fruit salad I made that day. Of course my kids couldn’t understand my excitement for farm fresh eggs, but everyone sure scarfed everything down, epically my son who had 3 huge helpings of berries and 2 huge helpings of beans!
